I was on the EPIC March 19th, and all I have to say is AMAZING! This is my seventh cruise, having cruised before on Carnival, Princess and Royal Caribbean. This was my first, and definitely will not be my last cruise with NCL. I found the service on NCL to be the friendliest I have ever encountered on any other cruise line. We booked our entire vacation through NCL as they were having an airfare sale at the time of our booking that we couldn't beat. I was a little nervous about booking this way as we didn't find out our flight times and hotel until 60 days prior to travel. However, I was pleasantly surprised at what great flight times and nice hotel they booked for us. Embarkation Embarkation was very easy. We walked right up to the counter and walked right onto the ship. We went directly to the Garden Cafe and by the time we were done with our lunch, our room was ready. StateroomWe had a balcony stateroom and loved it. After reading all the reviews I was prepared for the odd bathroom setup. At first I didn't like the setup, but after I got use to it, I didn't mind it at all. I loved all the storage in the room. Costa MayaWe really enjoyed Costa Maya. We took a tax into town, and ended up renting a lounge chair right at the water for $5.00 for the day. We thought it was well worth our money. I got a massage on the beach for $30.00. I loved the fact that she brought the massage table right over to the water so I could hear the water as I was getting a massage. We then headed over to 100% Agave and let me just say, that was the highlight of our trip. Since we have been home we can't stop talking about how wonderful that meal was! The service was a little slow, so make sure and get yourself enough time, but it was well worth the wait. It was the most amazing food, and you couldn't beat the price! There were five of us, and we each had a meal, an order of salsa, two orders of guacamole, and a total of eight margaritas, and our total bill was only $66!RoatanThis was our favorite port! We did the Tabyana Beach Party through NCL and loved it! It was such a beautiful beach! Get their early as it did get busy. The snorkeling right off the beach was the best snorkeling I have experienced. At one point I turned and there were hundreds of little fish surrounding me; it was amazing! CozumelWe did the Mexican Cuisine Cooking through NCL. This was such a wonderful excursion that I would highly recommend. Even my friend who doesn't like to cook really enjoyed this excursion. Chef Luis made it so fun, and the drinks were flowing! After you get to enjoy your cooking, you have a few hours to enjoy the beach club. DinningWe tried to eat at most of the dinning venues. For breakfast we mainly ate in the buffet and room service. We did eat at Taste and O'Sheehan's once. The food was the same no matter where you ate, so we found it much quicker to just eat at the buffet. We found the food and selection very good. Taste and The Manhattan Room were both good. We only ate at The Manhattan Room once. They both had the same food, so it didn't really matter. We also ate at the Noodle Bar, O'Sheehan's, and Le Bistro and Moderno. Our favorite was definitely Moderno! Le Bistro was also very good, but we like that Moderno was so different. I had read good reviews about O'Sheehan's, but we weren't impressed at all. We didn't think the food was very good. We loved the atmosphere, so we were sad that we didn't care for the food. Overall I thought the food on the EPIC was better than my prior cruises. However, my only complaint is the desserts were a huge disappointment. This may not be a bad thing as I didn't gain any weight on this cruise. The only dessert we did enjoy was the coconut ice cream in the buffet, but they only had it on a couple of occasions. DrinksWe did the pub crawl on the first night, and we didn't think it was worth the money. I personally did not think any of the drinks were very good, and gave most of them to my boyfriend. The college age kids seemed to enjoy it, but we were all in our mid 30's to early 40's, and weren't impressed. The Ice Bar was nice. The drinks were really good. We got some fun pictures and can now say we did it. It is something fun to do once, but probably not a second time. EntertainmentWe saw Blue Man and enjoyed it. I had seen them once before so knew what to expect. I didn't think it was as good as the show I had previously seen, but I still really enjoyed it. Second City was very funny. We also saw them in the Murder Mystery lunch and enjoyed that show as well. Our favorite though was Fat Cats. We didn't discover it until the second to last night, and wish we had discovered it earlier. ShipI thought the ship was Amazing!! I loved everything there was to do on it. I feel like I need another week to get to do and see everything I wanted to! I'm ready to book another cruise on the Epic! DebarkationIt was so easy and organized. When our color was called, we walked right off the ship and onto our shuttle.
