Some things RCCL can control, others the cruisers control. The embarkation procedures at Galveston were an utter disaster. The prior passengers (from Tom Joiner Charities) apparently refused to leave the ship, or leave the ship timely. This threw everything late for the incoming passenger. 2 1/2 hours in a terminal are no fun! After this problem, the cruise was BETTER than the RCCL norm. Cruise Director Mike Swajkowski, and his staff, turned things around. GREAT JOB. The shows were fantastic. The ship's singers and dancers exceeded RCCL's norms. As usual, there was a magician, a comedian, and "other" (in this case a "Young Elvis" singer). EVERYONE of these shows were exceptional. The ports of call were Cozumel, Grand Cayman, and Falmouth, Jamaica. The other Cruise Critic comments on these ports were more than accurate.I would like to commend Cruise Director Mike for a VERY unusual experience for us. He gave us a "Behind the Scenes" tour of the ship and Theater. These sessions were very sparsely attended. All the loss for the other cruisers!Mike gave a slide show presentation of the ship, and the next day Nicola (head dancer) and Seth (Sound Tech) gave a presentation of how the Theater works. We saw the stage, costumes, and sound system which made the shows REALLY come alive for us. THANKS to those who gave us this tour. RCCL should do these shows on all of their ships. The problems on the cruise were 2 passengers who arrived drunk and late in Cozumel, delaying the entire ship! Secondly, unsupervised kids pushing all of the elevator buttons on the ship, delaying passenger from using the lifts. These were the problems of irresponsible guests and parents. Mike and Captain Lief were great in turning a lousy experience into humour. Great job. Overall, this was one of our best cruises. Also, Laane and George in the dining room made it a point to learn the names at our table, and to go beyond service. I requested an offer menu meal (Chicken Adobo) and the entire dining room staff sprang into action to see that our table had this WONDERFUL meal on the last night of our cruise. RCCL always selects great crew to help us cruisers. Great job for them and the ship. Also, the Welcome Back, Cruise Critic, and Crown & Anchor parties were fantastic. Mike SAYS that he reads the comments in Cruise Critic, Let's put him to the test!! Fantastic and friendly Captain, Great Cruise Director, WONDERFUL THEATER STAFF, and finally the Ice Show was the ABSOLUTE BEST ice show that I've seen on ANY RCCL ship. Thanks to all, and I recommend other Cruise Critic Members to sail this ship!

Cabin Review

Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin E2

Voyager of the Seas was the first of this Class of ship for RCCL, and it has its own interesting facilities. The balcony was about 2-3 feet shorter than the Freedom and Genesis (Oasis/Allure) Class of ships. The balcony had a half plastic/half solid metal front, preventing us from seeing through the bottom of the balcony exterior wall. On other newer RCCL ships, the balcony is 100% clear plastic. We were on the 8th deck, directly outside the elevators on the port side of the ship, and we never heard any noise. The room was typical for our class of accommodations.
