First time cruisers. We felt the process for embarkation at Singapore was a bit of a shambles. However, we were more than pleasantly surprised when we got on board - despite its age, the ship was still looking amazingly good. Fellow cruisers were great - they were from all over the world, US, UK, Australia, New Zealand, Spain, South America, Germany, Singapore, Malaysia, China, Canada etc etc. (even one from Burma). Everyone was extremely friendly. Our Ports of Call were Saigon, Da Nang, Hong Kong, Xiamen, Shanghai. The highlight for us was our rickshaw ride in Saigon - truly memorable! The excursions were organised reasonably well. We found the food in the MDR a little disappointing at times. The Windjammer was always extremely busy and seating was invariably a problem. The food in the Windjammer was sometimes better than the MDR. We did have lunch in the MDR on two occasions, and it was very nice to get away from the maddening crowd in the Windjammer. There were two good entertainment shows in the theatre: a Celine Dion impersonator from the UK and a Beatles tribute band (The Beatels from Australia). We really did enjoy this cruise, and we were doing a b2b - the consecutive cruise was another story!
