My husband and I (late 30's) took this cruise on our own- left the kids at home. I won't get too specific. I will only say we had the greatest time on the ship. The cruise was fabulous for us. We had never been to any of the ports, so it was fun for us to discover the ports and their beauty. I think mostly we got out of the cruise what we put into it- good attitude and no worries led to a stress free week. Embarkation: As suite passengers we had an easy time of it. We had a private waiting area with refreshments. The concierge led us on to the ship and directly to our rooms at noon. We changed into our swimsuits but were a little disappointed as we could not use the the hot tubs right away. It seems one of them was being repaired. Anyway, we lounged around for a bit and enjoyed the day.Ship: The ship is smaller than others I have been on, but I liked it. I thought the decor was pleasant as it wasn't the usual garish cruise colors and such. I wasn't looking for faded carpets or rust stains or the like, so I can't give you a breakdown of her wear and tear. The public area were always well maintained and neat. Our room was a suite which I absolutely fell in love with. The floor length shower and tub were rather interesting. I loved the views from the 13th deck (really windy) and also the observation area in galaxy. Superb.Staff: By far, friendliest staff I have ever come across. Everyone was super friendly and helpful. My butler & steward were the greatest. Concierge not so much, but her tip reflected that.Breakers: The spring breakers were there, but it couldn't have been more than 150 max. They were rowdy the fist day (excess fun & alcohol) but they seemed to calm down as the week went on. The pool & hot tubs were tough to get at the first day, but after that we never had a problem finding space, and the kids were mostly polite and fun to talk to. Eats: Food was usually pretty good, but I think that's more to do with the fact that we ate breakfast and lunch at Cagney's (awesome suite perk). We ate at the Italian specialty the first night, and the food and service were excellent. The food was actually savory- not bland that you had to season to taste. Desserts were amazing. We otherwise ate dinner in the main dining rooms (not bad choices most nights). Service was always super efficient and friendly and food and dessert pretty good. The 24 hour burger place was a favorite as it always was good to have a quick eat here and there. Chocolate buffet was tremendous- especially the white chocolate fountain. As suite guests, we got first crack at the buffet and were able to take photos. FUN: Entertainment was decent. I enjoyed the Broadway show and the acrobats are fantastic. My husband is not a show-guy, so we really did not go to any of the others. We did do a few of the game shows and found those extremely entertaining. The passengers were really great sports. Arvin & Emily are wonderful to listen to! The rest of the time was fun. Popped in on Karaoke, White Hot Party and some other stuff for a bit. Had a good time.Casino was a hopping place. I saw big big jackpots paying out left and right on the nights I was there. I would suggest playing video poker to anyone interested in winning. There is also a Unicorn penny slot that paid out $20K in jackpots over the week- to the same guy.We had a cruise critic meet & greet which was nice, with a cabin crawl. Met some great folks and had a good time. That's pretty much how our cruise went- we ate, we gambled, we went to port every day, and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

Cabin Review

Penthouse with Large Balcony

Cabin SF

This suite was phenomenal. It has two rooms. It had the sitting room with the espresso maker and the flat screen tv with dvd player. There is a small dining set and a sofa and two chairs. The balcony is rather small because of the bathroom. The rooms can be divided by these heavy, wooden, oriental gilded decor doors. They were gorgeous.

The other room was the bedroom/bathroom combo. The bedroom was a king bed in an enclosed space with the same mirrored, gilded decor (even the ceiling)! There was a small flat screen tv. The bedroom could be section off by these big red velvet curtains. Then there was a huge closet with a seated vanity. Lots of drawers. The bathroom had a double vanity. The loo was a private glassed off area. Then there was a full shower (with a ceiling to floor clear window overlooking the ocean). There was a also a jetted tub with a full window. It was gorgeous.
