I think this review will only be useful for people like us, so let me start with what WE are about - if you don't care or if you're doing this same itinerary and just want some scoop on what we did, skip down.We are: a family of four (low 40s, boys 10&7); are active and fit; who love snorkelling, food, games, pools and sun; from Ohio; who know how to stretch a dollar and avoid cruise-offered excursions to make our own way and don't spend much on board outside a couple drinks a day; have been to lots of places and seen lots of things in the world; are consultants/entrepreneurs; live life on the lighter and more optimistic side.We returned home just a few days ago. The weather was totally perfect every moment aboard and in port. This was our 3rd cruise and our first interior/no window room, 2nd Carnival cruise. Overall impressions: We had a blast - everything was good (not great) and in our view proportional to what we paid which was around thirteen hundred after tax before gratuities cruise only. This was not a knock-your-socks-off experience and I don't think that's reasonable to expect on this ship, this line, at this price point. The high points were our dinner servers, dinner in general was good as were the sit down breakfasts we took; room was well cared for every time we were out, it was cleaned; we enjoyed our ports (totally on our own initiative (see below for tips)) and we always had fun with free time checking out shows, playing card/table games we brought with the kids (especially in the library, though if that place gets discovered, there's not much space!) or at other mostly deserted areas of the ship or grabbing some sun/pool/hot tub. We enjoyed minigolf and shuffleboard. Our cruise director and maitre'D were good, fun-loving and all that.Kids loved the bunk beds--they probably preferred them to regular beds and a balcony!None of us or anyone we met or knew on board was sick - we felt the motion but it was never a problem at all anywhere at anytime.Coffee, ice tea, lemonade, juices (breakfast), water were all easy to find, plentiful; same for ice cream. However... everything was busy & crowded - it was never easy to get a good seat on lido (main/pool) deck (always busy/rather loud/crowded) in a lounge chair, many of the 'special food stations' like happy valley, pizza or deli, took 5-10 minutes to run the gauntlet and we pretty much had a policy of never standing in long lines which just meant that we had to be more opportunistic and always found places to eat relatively quickly if we just moved around a bit. The 24/7 Pizza & salad was good tasting but always seemed to take longer than should have.Pools were small and busy, hot tubs were jammed and not hot at all, slide was slow in line and in riding speed (good for small kids but lame for big ones). Getting on and off was not real fun, but also not really worse than any other experience comparable to boarding and leaving a jumbo jet in coach class (and we were definitely coach class at best with our room). And we never made an appearance at a show before it started, so we consequently never had good seats, but that wasn't a real bother.Kids always found something on TV (usually I used it to wake them up and it came on at the very end of the day).I thought the staff definitely worked hard but there were only a few sparks of real happiness and joy from the people that we got to know most (dinner waiters and room steward). The demographic was young - a good number of folks like us with kids and a set of 18-30 year old live-it-up crowd which was fine. A good contingent of slightly older folks 55-75ish that I thought either needed to have kids or be pretty young at heart to enjoy this or to be ok with the hustle and bustle. I found people to be nice and friendly--not grumpy or petty.I'm so used to non-smoking now that I found the places where I walked through smoking areas a bit annoying but easy enough to either find or avoid depending on your desires. We would do it again for the right schedule and same price (though we'd rather visit new places every time we travel).

Cabin Review

Cabin 4A

we heard some clanking noises a couple mornings that woke us up and sounded like they were coming from below. otherwise, everything was good for that category of room.
