We are Diamond+ on RCCL. This was only our second cruise on Celebrity, but our RCCL status gave us Elite status on Celebrity. We had a non-stop flight from JFK to San Juan and arrived at about 11AM. The taxi (about $25 with tip) to the pier was easy. The baggage drop off lines were fairly long, but once inside the terminal the boarding process was smooth. As a matter of fact, Mrs. Yogimax and I were the first to board the ship. Here are some general comments...CABIN - We had booked an inside, but a price drop after final payment allowed us to upgrade to an Oceanview on Deck 3. The cabin was fine and evening chocolates brought back fond memories. There were no towel animals, but that's minor.FOOD - We have sailed on RCCL, Carnival and NCL and I have to say the food quality was the best ever. The buffet is great with Eggs Benedict available in the morning and Indian and Asian specialties at lunch. The main dining room had a wonderful selection with French Onion Soup and escargots available every night. Steak was a highlight.ENTERTAINMENT - The Celebrity Singers an Dancers were top notch. An adagio dance team in the style of Cirque were excellent. I thought the comedian was poor, but I think most cruise comedians are poor. There was a singer who presented shows in various styles, from contemporary to opera. He would have received an "A" if he toned down the volume a degree.NON-SMOKING ATMOSPHERE - Absolutely wonderful. What a pleasure to spend time in the casino in a smoke-free atmosphere!ELITE PERKS - Michael's Club was open five nights from 5PM-7PM for cocktails. I would highly recommend the Manhattans while Mrs. Yogimax enjoyed the Lemon Martinis. One of the highlights, as it is on every cruise was meeting folks in Michael's Club. This was no exception as we quickly made friends with three women from Canada (including an adorable 80 year old) and enjoyed their company the entire cruise. We used the free laundry service and free dry cleaning as well as casino match play coupons. The 90 free minutes each for internet made it easy to keep in touch with home. RCCL and Celebrity's Elite perks are the best!THALASSOTHERAPY POOL - We truly enjoyed daily dips in this warmed salt water pool followed by a dip in the hot tub. It was very relaxing and stimulating at the same time. Yes, my swimming trunks faded a little, but it was a small price to pay for the enjoyment. Of note, a sign which warned of material fading was itself so faded that you could hardly read it!PORTS - St. Croix... St. Kitts... Dominica... Grenada... Tobago. We did independent tours in St. Kitts, Dominica and Grenada. They were all reasonably priced, general sightseeing tours and well worth the cost. In St. Croix and Tobago we found tours available on the pier. Once again, no complaints.GENERAL - Celebrity provides a wonderful product which is enhanced by great perks to Elite members. We were so impressed, we booked a cruise for next year on the same ship but with different ports of call.
