This was my first cruise and I was certainly not disappointed. If you are lookind for quiet elegance and sophistication, look for another cruise. This is all about fun, fun, fun. The food was not amazing. In Windows By The Sea, it was very much standard buffet fare. Dining was better for the experience than the actual meals. The staff is fabulous. They leave absolutely nothing undone. The attention and service you will receive is amazing. If you are fortunate enough to have Gabriel as your maitre d, you will be thrilled. He is just so much fun. The experience is fine dining, if the food is not. If that is not your style, you have pizza 24 hours and food is always available at one buffet or another. The entertainment on this cruise was just wonderful. There is a band called Music Boardwalk and they are probably the best cover band I have ever heard. Their playing was amazing. They have a lot of energy and were fun to listen to. They performed as The Beatles in the stage show, Ticket To Ride, which was also just fantastic. If having a great time, if not a great meal, is the reason you cruise, you will enjoy this ship. They have put together some really great entertainment. My only real complaint about Carnival is how hard they push the drinks. I mean they PUSH the drinks. When you decline a drink, it is almost annoying how the server tries to talk you into it. They add a gratuity to each drink served, so I understand why they hawk the booze the way they do, but it is just way over the top. Our cabin steward was just wonderful. Our cabin was always clean and we had plenty of clean towels. The turn down service was a very nice touch. this is an older ship. It is not elegant or beautiful. It is just fun. it is clear that everything is designed around providing you a fun experience. There are fun activities planned, so there is always something to do.

Cabin Review

Cabin 5A

Our cabin was across from a crew work area, which actually made us happy. The crew is much more courteous and less noisy than the other guests. We had a windwow which was awesome. It make the room seem soooo much bigger and is definitely worth the extra money. The room was small, but we had 3 women in our room and managed just fine. The bathroom is small, but it served the purpose. We would probably request the same cabin if we cruised with Carnival again.
