Ship Facts: Caribbean Princess Review (by Cruise Critic!) | Caribbean Princess Deck Plans
Grand in some aspects....not in the food.
Getting on the ship was a breeze. Our luggage showed up several hours later while we were exploring. I found this ship to be very hard to navigate. Several floors don't go through and not all elevators go to all the floors. The elevators were super slow so we opted for the stairs. That got tiresome but the elevators were never available.

When we returned to unpack and explore our room, we were amazed at the space. The deck was grand. You could see out to the side of the ship and behind. We did find many items left by previous guests as in hats, socks and back scratcher. The tracks for the drawers were loose and the drawers wouldn't slide in without the track. I mentioned it but it never got fixed. The bathroom smelled so we asked for it to be cleaned. Our room attendant did clean it and that fixed the odor. I did find it odd that at night we were never given a top sheet. The attendant would remove the bedspread nightly and replace it with a down comforter. No top sheet.

The ports were all very nice. We really enjoyed Dominica and Grenada. In Bon Aire, we found this little tucked away restaurant was that really nice. The lady there was so sweet and explained all the unusual dishes on the menu. It was a nice variation from LAMB that was offered nightly on the ship. This restaurant was named Norca's Deli Cafe, LaTerraza Mall #21/23 on Kaya Grandi. The food was really good. Excellent find.

The menu in the Palm dining was sad. Lobster was only served once but LAMB was featured three nights in a row. The shrimp cocktail had the tiniest shrimp. Turkey dinner was actually featured one night. The menu lacked options, adventure or flair. Basic food served at home at any hole in the wall cafe. On all our other cruises, nightly dinner was a treat with the waiters dancing and singing. It was a lively atmosphere. Oh not on this boat....dinner was boring!! The staff did some singing on the 2nd formal night but not all the staff participated and it didn't last that long. Our waiter was very friendly but seemed to have too many tables to attend. He was very helpful in choosing from a menu that didn't excite or tempt my taste buds on most nights.

This was a family vacation and we were really glad that there were 5 ports of call. The general age on this boat was in their 60's. There were no poolside games or fun contests. Actually the boat was extremely quite at night. We wondered around several nights trying to find something to do. The entertainment in the theatre tended to be ALL in Spanish and didn't hold our attention. There were plenty of open seats!! The hypnotist was staged and horrible. The comedian, Jay Moore, did rock the house. All the seats were full then. He only did two shows, once was during our 8:15 dinner so we missed the second one. Should have skipped another night of LAMB in the dining!! The guests did lots of ballroom dancing and swing in the Piazza at night. Just not our thing. Maybe in 30 years.

The crew was very nice and super friendly. We loved the staff at Sabatini's. Now that was a treat. The main dining room staff was helpful. We only found one crew member named Ariel that was with the bar staff. Do not give him your order. He didn't get anything right ever. He tried serving my 14 year old daughter a gin and tonic claiming she had ordered it. Far cry from pineapple juice. I was there when she ordered and there to refuse liquor being serviced to a minor.

Disembarkation was amazingly a breeze. I was pleasantly surprised at the ease and flow of exiting.

Overall, we had a great time. Our room was amazing. Entertainment needs help. The main dining menu needs attention. Quality of the food was lacking. This cruise is better designed for the over 60 crowd. The pools were nice but ice cold. Only good for a quick dip guess that's why it was never full. Movie under the stars always was during our 8:15 dinner. It would have been great if they had started a movie at 10:15 to give another option than the theatre show. There were 3 pm show times but you couldn't see the screen in the bright lights.

Main areas were super clean!! always super clean!!
