Missed a Port for Medical evacuations
Miami was a breeze, stayed in the Marriott at the airport with taxis as our ground transport. This was easy and painless. Would recommend it.
Day one in Miami was great fun we got on the ship in zone 11 pretty quickly. Enjoyed lunch then looked around the ship. Noticed right off that the lines at the buffet areas are long, this ship is not made for this many people. Sail Away was great fun, lots of music, drinks, good atmosphere.
We did Any Time Dining and found the service to be below average to poor depending on the night. Very little personalized service and to top it off food in the MDR was disappointing most nights. The lobster night was good, and the shrimp were always good.
We ate at Harry's once which was good, and the service was great.
We picked this cruise for 2 reasons, 1-spring break week 2- the itinerary. 4 port days in great places with some awesome beach time. We missed Half Moon Cay and added a Sea Day because a woman got on the ship when More she was already very sick. She was sick enough that 3-4 hours into the cruise the ship turned around to Miami to disembark her causing us to miss Half Moon Cay. They added a Fun Day At Sea, which was one too many Days at Sea when we purchased the cruise for 4 port days, 3 days at sea. This ship did not have enough to do for that many sea days. The lines are too long for the buffets, there is not enough space at the tiny pool. People were not at all happy with the itinerary change and were really unhappy that more information was not given to 3600 people who missed a great vacation day for someone who got on a cruise ship sick choosing to interrupt the rest of our vacation. This was the feeling of everyone we talked to.
This ship was very smoky. Too many places for cigarettes on this ship. The entire 5th deck from the casino back stunk. If you wanted to listen to the music or get pictures taken, you have to endure the smoke. Also the 9th deck in the enclosed area between the pool and Emile's is super smoky. I think this might be a Carnival problem b'c I never noticed it on RC or Disney.
The positives were the entertainment, and the size of our cabin. WE had a family ocean view cabin which we really loved.
WE did have a fun time but would spend a bit more next time and go back to either Royal or Disney, the service from the dining room was inexcusable. Less

Cabin review: Carnival Liberty Oceanview Spa 1105
Big cabin with tons of storage. Loved the view. Bed was a bit hard for my taste. WE could walk around the cabin without any problem. Proximity to the spa was great. My husband took many of his showers there so he could get some alone time from wife and 2 daughters. A good option for the odd gendered out parent. There was a little noise from deck chairs being placed out on 12 each early am, wear ear plugs. A bit of noise too from kids coming out of late night Carnival club. 1101 may be a quieter cabin than 1105, just a bit further back from the stairs.
Port and Shore Excursions
El Moro was nice and we enjoyed it.
One port of call to San Juan is all you need, I would actually not pick it if you can avoid it.
