A few months prior to this cruise I asked my son which big ship he wanted to experience.Because we have been to EASTERN caribbean many times the ship itself was our destination .He did not care and truthfully I looked at prices ..EPIC was a tad cheaper than Oasis or Allure plus I wanted to experience NCL again. They were my favorite until the ill-fated Majesty way back when ..but let's not go there ...worse cruise ever!!! Bermuda was nice ...ship had multiple problems ..It's gone now so bye bye Majesty
The difference in price I thought would cover the specialty restaurants I wanted to try so we chose EPIC
I checked reviews,looked at youtubes and NCL websites and booked a GREAT CABIN 11192
I lucked out with WESTJET and gotGREAT flights to Fll at a reasonable price .VERY nice non-stop flights GOOD JOB WEST JET!!! WE left on Friday .very easy with WEST JET got our boarding passes on line and headed towards the airport at 5;30 Am .Flight was on time .Nice service Rested Smooth ride Great not to connect or worry about luggage
Arrived in FLL called Hyatt PLace North for our lift to hotel Well this hotel is in GREAT need of a MAKEOVER!!! It reeks MILDEW in all the rooms we stayed in THe staff was NOT NICE nor accommodating It was DREADFUL .When I complained QUIETLY they dismissed me NEVER AGAIN THE HYATT PLACE NORTH .
A man I met found COCKROACHES in his Hideabed ...YUCK!!!!THis is 3 stars perhaps 3 moons not stars ...so stay away from this place THank God we did MUCH better on our way back Stayed at the W HOTEL ...WOW is the word THey gave me a room with an OCEANCIEW and Balcony ,,,WOW WOW WOW IT was like being on ship again .WE loved the W great place to stay but a little far from everything ...shopping restaurants etc ..took cabs everywhere but it was fineI wanted a beach hotel and got one Be advised PARKING is expensive here ,as are meals and local calls are NOT FREE
Arranged a pick up by a taxi driver to take us to MIAMI port ,REliable and punctual on Saturday the 12th of March.
Registering in Terminal B was painless WE waited a while and boarded quite quickly WE proceeded to Garden Cafe for excellent lunch after which our cabin was ready so off we went
I found no fault with the cabin layout It was fine I just needed to get beds separated and fridge emptied .I found out I could get a pitcher of water from room service Our cabin steward Janelle was GREAT throughout Forsome reason I constantly had no clue which way I was going It took me the week to figure out our cabin was on the RED CARPET .....DUH!!!!I loved our balcony and Janelle did put a lounger in it for me I loved it and did use it a lot Our balcony was HUGE ...I would have appreciated a bigger table outdoors

WE explored this Huge ship a bit ,unpacked had muster drill ...PAINLESS no jackets and by then it was dinner time
I wanted to see LEGENDS UNPLUGGED in Manhattan Room so we went there late ..IT WAS NUTS!!!!WAy too many people but we agreed to share a table and did enjoy both dinner and the show
I did book ALL my shows with my PCC -personal cruise consultant ahead of time ....very WISE move ..A lot of people could NOt get to see all the shows To be fair our ship that week had 4800 pax ...lotta people ..but I did not mind at all EPIC was very lively
The next day I attended the Meet& GREET i organized with NCL Senior staff members showed up and they did put on a little spread ..BRAVO NCL and DENIS HOTEL MANAGER
He and his staff treated all CC members really well THANK YOU His restaurant manager was most kind to me re my allergies and requests . SERVICE on NCL is TOP KNOTCH!!!Martin gave me an NCL pin to add to my MICH cap THank You Martin!!
My son and I saw All the shows Cirque Dreams was AWESOME .I loved FABBA, ChipnDales ,Legends and Second City .My son loved Blue Man Group. The Magician Jeff Hobson was hilarious All in all great entertainment and music throughout
I loved the Casino and Marietta and Jason and Spencer were great ..plus I won ..so I was one happy camper
I did have a mishap outside FAT CATS but NCL staff was quick to react and took care of my booboo ....which unfortunately for me still hurts ..MAJOR OUCH But Denis came through with a pass to Spa to massage my poor knee His assistant Rashida was great She organized 2 private tours which were fascinating WE actually saw I 95 of the ship ...the main transportation Highway for everything on Epic WE saw coolers and Fridges full of necessities for the cruise ...so neat and organized Bravo to the executive chef ..I think someone should give him a pair of ROLLER SKATES .This place is HUGE!!!! and he supervises it all WOW!!!!I was truly impressed
WE ate at Modernos and Cagneys ..IMO these are the 2 best restaurants on ship Beautiful ambiance great food . I was not impressed with Bistro or Cucina .Everything else was fine .I enjoyed Japanese show Our chef was a Hoot but I did not care for the food but my son LOVED it ..so judge accordingly
Due to my accident and hobbling around I actually did not see all that much of the ship so I must return
In St Maarten I hobbled to find very rubber soled shoes .which I did WE stayed on the beach but weather did not cooperate I could not go swimming as the step down was too steep for me with my injured knee
St Thomas was fine ..been there done that ...still love it
Nassau we went to Paradise beach ..water was ICE cold ..I dipped my toes
All in all I really liked EPIC .Would I go again DEFINTELY .I found service and staff REALLY NICE I loved my cabin THe shows were great I am considering the BTB med and Transat and my PCC tells me by then all the shows will be NEW ...SUPER
Majesty kept me way from NCL but EPIC has lured me back GREAT SHIP
I hope my next one will be as GREAT!!!GOOD JOB NCL !!!!
