Part World cruise Southampton to Sydney

Sail Date: March 2011
Destination: Australia & New Zealand
Embarkation: Southampton

Embarkation in Southampton was good it took less than one hour to get on board the ship.

the initial observation of the vessel was good large bars and lounges and plenty of deck space.

The balcony cabin was fine , bathroom was large and seemed fine. But after 3 days all this changed.

the toilet kept on breaking down 10 times on the whole journey 3 times spilling water and raw sewage onto the bathroom floor. Each time when we complaint the problem was fixed so we thought but again and again it happened. We asked to be moved on 3 occasions but the request was totally ignored.

the Headliner shows were great the best we have seen on a cruise ship for a long while.but otherwise the daily entertainment was to say mediocre the cruise director was never to be found and the cruise staff are very badly trained.

Food in the Belvedere leaves a lot to be desired, always cold and very little variety.

Our waiters in the main dining room were fine More and the food was of good quality.

Food in the Rhodes is excellent well worth the extra cover charge.

The screening room must be the joke of the century, 30 seats for a ship with 2000 passengers.Would we ever go again on this vessel NO WAY. Less

noisy location almost across from laundry

Port and Shore Excursions

nice port the ship docs very close to town. We took again the local tour 5 hours and saw the cliff divers which is must for first time visitors to this port. Again just go of the wharf and book a local tour much better value than the ships tours

The main town Oranje Stad is a lovely colourful place with some very interesting buildings. We took a local 3 hour tour around the island and it was very interesting well worth the twenty us dollars. do not book the ships tours to expensive and they do exactly the same places.

we had to go by tender to Port Denarau which is about 10 minutes away from Nadi, it was a Sunday with most of the shops closed, was not worth going to. We spend about 3 hours ashore and went back to the ship.

People very friendly. the port itself is not much but again we took a local 3 hour tour into the mountains and it was great.

loved it. we went to Alcatraz, rode the cable car, explored Fisherman's Wharf, eat the famous clam chowder for lunch, and all on our own .this covered the whole day. Don't waste your money on a tour. from where the ship docks you can walk everywhere unless you are disabled.
