To start off my DH and I are in our early sixties. This is our 8th Cruise, 6th on Carnival and 2nd on Fantasy. We live in Mass so we decided to drive down to Charleston giving ourselves 2 days to get there. When we woke up in our motel room the morning of the Cruise to find thunder storms and heavy rain I thought good thing I packed my umbrella, but did not need it since the rain was gone by the time we reached the Charleston Terminal at 11 AM. Parking, unloading the luggage and catching the shuttle to the terminal was real easy. What made it better was I have a handicapped parking card, so not only was parking free, yes I said free, but the shuttle picked us up just a few feet from our car. We were on the ship less 30 minutes after entering the terminal which was great.

We headed to the Lido deck for some lunch and did not have a problem finding a seat. We did not realize it was spring break in N C & SC but more on that later in the review. We were putting our carry-on's in our room by 1:30. We checked out our MDR seating which was a table for 10. Although we wandered around the ship we were familiar with Fantasy since we were on her in 2002. Muster was held for out floor on the lido deck and went very smooth. Since all our luggage was delivered just as we were sailing away I unpacked instead of attending the sail away party.

Our dinner mates in the dining room were great which made dinner very enjoyable. I will state that I thought the food both in the MDR and lido deck a little disappointing. Having sailed on Carnival before I never had a bad meal. I found the small buffets which were international each day disappointing if you did not like, French, Mexican, Indian, or Caribbean you were left with either hamburgers, fried food, pizza or deli. I ended up with alot of deli lunches. At the MDR I also was disappointed is some of the entrEe and starters. For one thing what you received was somewhat different from the explanation on the menu. Also some of the food was overcooked. I just figured the chef was having a bad day or week. But the food was my only complaint on the cruise.

Cabin Review

Ocean View

Cabin 6C

U128 was a great cabin with plenty of space. The only problem I found was just one chair. One of us had to sit on the bed to watch TV. I am use to a balcony cabin with a sofa. Bathroom was large enough and there was plenty of storage space.
