Sail Date: Feb 2011

First let me say I love to cruise, have sailed several lines and this is the first time i have taken the time to give a critique. I will keep this as short and honest as possible.

The cruise port of Civitavecchia is ill equipped to board passengers and the staff totally unorganized. There are NO drop off areas, signage,or bus transports.Plan to walk a LONG way on this dreary port to get to the tent. Yes tent. You will stay in a tent until the ship boards. Leaving the port: will cost you around $200 US dollars by cab or bus. If they tell you it is a short walk the the train...DONT LISTEN, they lied. We walked for over an hour dragging all of our luggage, went up two fights of stairs and boarded a crowded Graffiti covered train to get back to Rome. When I say crowded I mean elbow to elbow standing up for over 30 minutes.

The ship itself is new and beautifully decorated. The only meal that comes with any liquid is breakfast. Coffee/juice. Every other meal/time will cost you 3.50 and up for ANY beverage.(Water ect.) Room service: free continental breakfast only, everything else has a hefty charge. Menu is also very limited and the food is average to below average. No service past 11:00. Dining room had the friendliest staff, especially at the end of the cruise at tip time. The food at buffet's and dinner: Same fare repeatedly and below average.

Cabin Review

Cabin was tastefully decorated and spacious, balcony nice.
