We sailed on this ship in November, 2010, on the classic itinerary..liked those islands much better.
This was a good cruise...getting on the ship in San Juan took all of 20 minutes and we were finished at 1:30pm..had all day to relax, unpack and enjoy the ship.
Had a mini suite ( same as last time)...this cabin is starting to show some wear and tear...had some trouble with the commode flushing, but not an issue. Had a great cabin steward ( Olimpio )..very cheerful and accommodating, always had extra ice and fresh beach towels.
The food was much better when we sailed in November. Had dinner at Sabatini's one night and the entree was simply awful..I don't know what they did to the lobster but it tasted foul and had an awful sauce on top...we skipped the entree and also dessert that night.
Had only one other dinner in the dining room and it was quite good...rest of the time we ate in the Cafe Caribe or Horizon...it was satisfactory, but nothing to write home about.
I love the the upbeat and cheerful attitude of the entire crew on this ship...they are the best.
Had a great comedy show one night ( Phil Tag )..the other comedian was mediocre.
The hypnotist was boring....we spend so much time staying busy onshore that we rarely stay up too late at night.
Did an excursion from the ship in Dominica...would not recommend it..we drove forever to get to the Emerald Falls and was disappointed . Also disappointed in the black sand beach at Mero....it was pathetic. Generally we book our own exursions but since we jumped on this cruise at the last minute, we were limited.
Grenada was a joy..took the water taxi to Grand Anse Beach...was lovely as was the town and people.
We loved the upbeat attitude in Aruba and also the beach..we were the first ones there at Eagle Beach in the morning and found a load of gorgeous shells...pretty white sand.
Bonaire was the most beautiful clear water I have ever seen...beach is rocky and hard to enter but once in the water it is great.
Of course, St. Thomas is always a nice place...went to Emerald Beach this time..was quiet, nice water, watched the diving birds.
I will always recommend Princess because they really do try so hard to please...everyone does.
Will probably jump on again at Thanksgiving...
