Ship Facts: Norwegian Jewel Review (by Cruise Critic!) | Norwegian Jewel Deck Plans
We took the Norwegian Jewel on March 6 sailing out of New York City. My boyfriend and I are a young couple and it was his first time cruising. I have cruised previously before, first time on Norwegian and we both recommend this cruise to anyone.

We ate our breakfast and lunch meals at the Garden Buffet everyday. There was such a wide selection to choose from (different stations for each type of food) and the food was always tasty and hot when it was supposed to be hot and cold when it was supposed to be cold. Sometimes it would get a little busy, which is expected on a ship with over 2000 people, but we never had a problem finding a seat. We loved to eat out at the back of the boat in the Great Outdoors seating area.

We only ate at the two main dining rooms so cannnot comment on the specialty restaurants. We loved Tsars Palace, such a classy dining room, service was amazing and food delicious! Can't say any bad about any food we had as it was all soo good. We sometimes would order an extra serving and the staff had no problem bringing us more.

Although the dining areas were busy at times, we never had to wait for more than 5 minutes to be seated. The service was great and everyone very friendly.

We went to the Stardust theatre every night and loved all the shows, some more than others. Although the comedy shows were good, they were not our favourite. We were blown away by the Crazeehorse show, the magician and the Cirque Bijou. The entertainment on this ship was amazing and we were very impressed. There was always something happening, so never had the opportunity to be bored. We dont have kids, but there seemed to be a lot of activities for them as well. Whenever walking by kids club, they all seemed to be having fun, playing games, singing, etc.

The ship itself was always very clean. I loved how colourful and cheery it looked. We had a balcony room on the 10th floor, which was spacious and cleaned two times daily by the staff. We loved our balcony and will always cruise with a balcony now. Nice to be able to sit out in your own private area. I was happy to have a mid ship room, as I tend to get motion sickness. Really helped being in the middle of the ship.

The staff on the ship always said good morning or good evening to us and would always strike up conversation. They were very friendly and so eager to help if we had a question or concern. Nothing negative to say about the staff, as they were always so pleasant to us and seemed to go out of their way for passengers.

We liked each of the ports on this cruise. Our first stop was Florida. We took a shuttle bus to Cocoa Beach and enjoyed a nice day at the beach. We also did a bit of shopping and went back on the boat to relax.

Next was Great Stirrup Cay, their private island. Beach was busy, but was a beautiful day and beautiful beach. Very relaxing. Served lunch, which was good.

Our favourite was Nassau. We got up early and off the boat as soon as we could. Headed over to Atlantis, was blown away by how amazing it was. Spent all morning there and then went to a beach in the afternoon and back on the boat early as we were exhausted.

We found embarkation to be quite fast and pretty easy. Never had to wait too long. We are morning people, so usually one of the first off the boat. May have been slower for those who waited for later in the day.

All in all, loved the cruise. Very rough seas on the way to Florida, but that can't be helped! Will definitely cruise NCL again! Can't wait for next one!
