Ship Facts: Celebrity Eclipse Review (by Cruise Critic!) | Celebrity Eclipse Deck Plans
Relaxing Cruise on the Eclipse
We flew from Rhode Island to Fort Lauderdale the morning of the cruise. Smooth flight and the shuttle we took to the Port of Miami arrived within minutes of us leaving the airport. Was a little slow getting on board as we arrived during peak time (1:30). We were offered complimentary champagne and mimosas when we boarded. We were immediately impressed on how clean and new the ship was. That afternoon, it was busy all over the ship. The lunch area was crowded and chaotic but that was nothing compared to the mandatory evacuation drill. Need to improve that aspect!

We were a little nervous about AquaClass as we loved the companionship of others in the Main Dining Room. However. we did meet a few people in the Blu Restaurant although most of the tables are for 2. The food and service were excellent in the Blu Restaurant. Blu did not offer the number of options of the Main Dining Room but the quality was excellent. We ate at Blu for breakfast and dinner. Food everywhere was top notch. Murano was outstanding both in terms of service and presentation of food. Tuscan Grill was also excellent but the portions were too big! Great quality and service there as well.

The evening shows were top notch. Very professional group of performers. The cruise director, Paul Baya, was very visible and appeared to enjoy his job. Paul was very personable and had a wonderful voice. Talented individual. The musical groups around the ship were fine but not up to the quality of our previous cruises on Celebrity.

We enjoyed the ports. You may want to bring some insect repellent as the fleas were biting in Cozumel! Nasty red marks on backs and legs on some of the passengers. We really enjoyed the snorkeling in Roatan and Grand Cayman. Sting Ray City in Grand Cayman was a blast! In Cozumel, the reefs have been badly damaged by hurricanes and we were disappointed. They are coming back very slowly.

Our room was clean and comfortable. The bed was close to the veranda. We had outstanding attendants, Luis and Victor. They went above and beyond. They even organized our belongings when we left for dinner the first night and were we ever surprised when we returned! We had fresh flowers which were freshened. Same was true with a bowl of fruit. Late afternoon appetizers were excellent and improved over past cruises. Our area of the ship was real quiet.

We have enjoyed our cruises on Celebrity.
