Friends & Family Cruise - good times!

Sail Date: February 2011
Destination: Western Caribbean
Embarkation: Miami

We had a great time on our recent cruise on the Glory. We had 11 in our group from home - family and friends from 18 to 78 years old. We reunited with more than a dozen friends that we met on a cruise 2 years ago. It was such a fun time. Sometimes we met up as a group on deck and in the dining room, but not always.

We had dining room seating (late dining) for 31 people linked together. We all like the late dining, gives us plenty of time to rest up and get ready after days in port. The food was great and we all tried new things whenever we could. Our wait staff was exceptional - they enhanced every dinner.

Our room was spotless and kept that way by our cabin steward. He brought lots of ice to the room to chill our champagne and juice. We had ordered vodka and rum from Bon Voyage, it was great to make drinks in the rooms.

We did a catamaran trip in Cozumel and it was one of the best excursions ever! We all (17 of us) had so much fun - I'd recommend it to More everyone. We zip-lined in Roatan and had a blast, great tour of the island, beach stop and even pictures with monkeys. In Grand Cayman, some of us did a beach trip and snorkelled right off shore.

We had beautiful sunny, hot weather all week. Only saw 1 show, we typically avoid the theatre to spend evenings under the stars on the top deck. Many of us got up every morning and met on the top back deck to watch sunrise. Love that room service in the morning as a wake-up call!

Sunrises and sunsets and fun days on the Serenity Deck, just enjoying each other's company. It was a great vacation, thanks Carnival. Less

Cabin review: Carnival Glory Oceanview Riviera

We had 3 in our cabin with an adjoining cabin with 3. There was plenty of storage. We don't spend too much time in the cabin so it was roomy enough. We were under the galley and could hear noise above us late at night - not too bad, but first cabin we've had that we noticed noise. The cabin steward kept it spotless.

Port and Shore Excursions

In Belize, we went to a nearby hotel and spent the day around their pool. We stopped at a craft market on the way and bought some great souvenirs and jewellery. We went in a big group, the city is a bit nerve-wracking and there are lots of warnings to be careful. Friends went scuba-diving after a plane ride and a boat ride - they loved it.

We didn't see much of Cozumel. Last time there we went to Playa Uvas for a guided snorkel tour and all-inclusive beach day. It was excellent, a short cab ride to their beach. This time at Cozumel we rented a catamaran through Tucan tours and had one of the best days ever! Spinnaker swing, fresh-made snacks and lunch on board, a stop at a deserted beach. A great day.

It's such a beautiful island with white sand beaches and turquoise water. Great for snorkelling right off shore. Love shopping in Georgetown and taking a look at all the banks in town.

A beautiful island very friendly people. We took a zip-lining tour through Shore Tours - great tour guide who explained the history of Roatan. Gorgeous lush tropical scenery and the zip-lining was a lot of run for all ages. The guides carried my camera and took pictures of our group at several lines. We had pictures taken with a monkey at the end then off to a beautiful beach where we had great drinks and enjoyed the view.
