On a Saturday morning, about 6 weeks prior to sailing, I found this cruise on the Internet at a special rate, and it looked like a great deal. We had never sailed NCL before, but have been on 9 cruises, on other lines. We went to the local travel agency where, within an hour, we were booked on the cruise. I had checked Cruise Critic reviews, which were not very good, but the travel agent assured us it would be OK and it was. It was not as bad as the reviews stated it was. The ship was all casual dress, so we took less clothes, in only carry-on bags, saving luggage fees on the airlines.

The ship itself was tired and in need of maintenance and repair. The elevators were very slow or not working. We were told by staff that she was scheduled for a (much-needed) dry-dock in May 2011. I would definitely wait to sail her again until after that time.

The cruise was dubbed "Caribbean Escape" which fit perfectly for us. It was a great get-a-way for a few days and it was alot less money than we have spent on most other cruises we have been on. The weather was beautiful, sunny and warm, everywhere, It was very relaxing.
