Embark and Debark were long and drawn out in my opinion but I don't have anything to compare to. This was our first cruise. Being lined up single file with a number in your hand waiting to be called is sort of daycare for old people. That part was awful.
Had to have our luggage out in the hallway the night before the last day. That was stupid and wasted our last day by packing and organizing. Basically means you're having a 6 day cruise, not 7. Getting back to port at 8AM is just death if you ask me. Talk about ending your vacation on a bad note. You should be able to pack on your last day and get back to port late morning/early afternoon would be better.
We had two balcony rooms next to each other. During booking, and many times later (while talking to carnival on the phone), we were told that our balconies could be joined (have the divider removed between them) when we got on the ship. Our instructions were to just ask our room steward to do it when we got on the ship. HAHA! Ok, I'll give you the truth about this painful process:
Lots of closet space, tiny bathroom, half of your view is blocked if you have the door opened between your balconies (to join them). Hard bed
