This was our second cruise on the Conquest. The first time was to the Western Caribbean, this time to the Bahamas and Key West.

My main complaint was that no matter whether we ate in the formal dining room or the buffet line the food was lukewarm to cold. This was particularly irritating in the Monet dining room. I know it was not our waiter's fault. He clearly was getting the food out to us in a very timely fashion and yet the food was not hot. I guess they make the dishes up so far ahead of time and leave them sitting waiting to be served. I had one of the pasta entrees one night and the pasta was literally gummy it was so cold. One night I had a "Greek farmer's salad" and was surprised that the greens were made up predominantly of nothing more than iceberg lettuce. With all the wonderful salad greens that are available now, why on earth are they still resorting to tasteless iceberg lettuce? Cheap and unimaginative. We saw our maitre'd only twice during the whole cruise for maybe 30 seconds total and yet they stuck an envelope in our room the last night so we could tip the maitre'd.

Our room steward, Thanaporn, was wonderful. She went out of her way for us, always smiling, and we showed our appreciation at the end of the cruise.

Cabin Review

Cabin 12

Nice, spacious room. Plenty of closet space and drawers with room left over. The bathroom was great. Large jacuzzi tub, plenty of counter space, 2 sinks in the bathroom and another large marble counter and sink in an area outside the bathroom. Large balcony. The room was very quiet and a wonderful place to get away from the noise and crowds in the common areas.

We were not so crazy about the bed. The mattress was ultra firm. My husband and I both woke up stiff and sore in the morning which is not normally a problem for us on our bed at home which is not a hard bed. They need to find a happy medium on the mattresses. Not every one likes the feeling of sleeping on the floor.
