Carnival Pride Cruise Feb 27th...

Sail Date: February 2011
Destination: Bahamas
Embarkation: Baltimore

We arrived at Port of Baltimore about 11:30am... They started letting cars through at about 12:15.. Process very quick in leaving off luggage and parking. Once in the terminal it took a little over an hour to get through security and then get on board..

We went to the lido deck got a drink and something to eat. Our cabin was ready at about 3:15...

Dinners.. We had early seating(6pm) and ate in the dining room every night but one.. Most of the dinners were very good.... Each evening there was always plenty to choose from... The only complaint we had was twice during the week, one of our part of 4 was still finishing their dinner and the waiter was putting the menu's in front of us.. We were not slow at all, the latest we left dinner was 7:30, and there was plenty of people left still finishing, so our waiter was not trained as well as he should have been.. Overall, nice dining experience..

Breakfast.. We ate all our breakfast on the lido deck, Omelets were More good, French toast was not bad, potatoes always seemed good...Bacon was fine.. However, sausage was always mixed with other items, I enjoyed this, but I am sure some did not care for this each day...

Lunch... we only had lunch a couple of times, usually just grabbed a burger or dog...

Shows.... The first big show was not very good, I believe it was called the World of music.. Fairly boring.. The second big show( done of the last night of our cruise was much better.. It was called Vroom ... It was scheduled for the second to the last night but the ship was rocking too much for the show that night..

The Piano Bar was very good... Roger was the best entertainer I have seen on a cruise ship... He had a great crowd every night until closing at 1am..

The first set of comedians were great... their shows were outstanding.. The next two that got on in Nassau, were no where near as good... However, the one got sick with the ship rocking but still did his show, so I guess I should give him a break..

Did not really attend most of the carnival games or contests... Did go to Karaoke once, that was okay...

Overall this cruise is a nice cruise for the money... we were able to drive to avoid the expense and hassle of flying, and the cruise was less then 600.00 a person for a week... great value.. I have been on cruises that are a little better, but for the money, this was great Less

Port and Shore Excursions

We signed up for an excursion to the Radisson hotel for 100.00 which included transportation and lunch, beer and lemonade.. However, it was cancelled... So, we took a cab over to the Radisson for 10.00 a person round trip and went on the beach there and ate at the Radisson on our own... Drinks were reasonable and so was the burgers, so overall saved alot of money with the excursion being cancelled..

We did not do an excursion at Nassau either.. We left the ship and walked to British Colonial Hilton and purchased a day pass... The charge to 55.00 for the pass, but 30.00 of it is for Food and or Beverages... so the actual fee for the use of their pool and private beach is 25.00, then you use the 30.00 to eat and drink... We had couple of beers and lunch for our 30.00...

Our first Port was Port Canaveral in Florida.. We did not do an excursion, we took the free Radisson Shuttlle from the terminal to Cocoa Beach... Carnival has an excursion with a shuttle to the same beach, but it cost 16.00... Both shuttles were next to each other just to the right of the exit doors..We just went to the beach, and did a little shopping, we left the ship about 11:30 and got back about 3:45pm
