We booked this cruise because of the itinerary, myself to visit the Mayan ruins in Mexico and to visit Cuba for my husband. It was not until a colleague said 'Surely you have read all the bad reviews!' which we hadn't,and for every review that was negative there was a positive
We went with an open mind as we have a 24 hour rule anyway when we go long haul,as we always arrive at the destination tired, peckish and in need of a shower.
Well, the cabin was a good size, very clean, if only a kettle was provided it would have ticked all the boxes.
The staff were amazing, we have been on several cruises and they certainly were the best.
The entertainment was first class in the theatre, and the crew show was very entertaining. Well done.
We could always find something to our taste in the self service restaurants, not so keen on the restaurant on deck 4, we liked being served, but found the food in the self service restaurant better.
We were very disappointed to miss out on the Dominican Republic due to we think leaving late from Havana ( still not sure) and to have an extra sea day but the entertainment staff were great. Not so happy about the ship breaking down for 4 hours but were kept informed at all times, these things happen.
We would definitely book a Thompson cruise if we liked the itinerary
