I've always wondered if I would enjoy a 14+ day cruise but after departing FLL just a few hours ago I can say 8 days was long enough. My comments don't relate to Celebrity in particular but rather people and their behavior. In other words, the natives were getting restless and it was nice to leave them behind.
Now to my review of the Solstice and more specifically AquaClass cabins -Overall the ship is lovely and quite spotless. In fact I often witnessed crew cleaning, polishing and painting areas that looked fine. I am grateful to have learned after the fact, that this ship suffered an outbreak earlier in January which was eradicated by the time my husband and I arrived. The staff was genuinely helpful and gracious and quite prudent with hand sanitation throughout the ship but especially at restaurant entrances.
I was a little disappointed with my AquaClass stateroom but having nothing to compare it to, I suppose I shouldn't be too critical. If I book this class again I will choose a room with the bed configured away from the balcony doors and closer to the air conditioning vents. With our bed near the balcony doors and the sofa under the vents, the cool air never quite reached our bed which made the room stuffy and warm. We did try sleeping with the balcony doors open a couple nights and this helped a bit but next time I'd prefer the cool air blowing down on top of us. I know this is strictly personal preference.
Efficient design and storage, but so small. Bed wasn't very comfortable, linens were nice however. Air conditioning could be more powerful to fully cool the room.
