We boarded the ship on Feb. 14, 2011 and set sail from Ft. Lauderdale. The check-in process was quick and painless. Once on board the fabulous Jewel of the Seas, we proceeded to the buffet where there were plenty of food options. Apparently, we weren't the only ones with this idea, so seating was limited. After lunch, we checked out our suite which was well appointed. We quickly changed into our bathing suits and headed off to the pool. We were disappointed to find that on Radiance class ships, they don't reserve deck chairs for those of us traveling at the concierge level, the way they do on Voyager class ships.
The rest of the trip was enjoyable. We made lots of new friends, some fellow cruisers and even some crew. My main dining room waiter taught me to speak some Hindi. We fell in love with the Chops Grille specialty restaurant.
We purchased the photo package for $349 which gave us all prints plus 10 hi-res images on CD. It seems expensive, but we will have these memories for a lifetime.
All in all, a lovely cruise!
