well, this may be a little late, but hear goes.
my wife and i had taken a cruise in early january, leaving from barcelona to italy / greece / turkey / egypt / malta, then returning to barcelona, around 14 days in all,and what a great time we had on the norwegian jade.
this was our 4th cruise, and it was as good or better than any cruise ship we have been on.from the friendly staff to the friendly friendly room service people, this was a pleasure of a holiday.the rooms were kept spotless, and service all round on the ship was great.
both my wife and myself have given up smoking, and we do 'not' begrudge anyone from having a smoke, and as we always cruise in a balcony cabin,we now find it not nice to be sitting on our balcony with people smoking on the balcony either side of us.as i stated we are 'not' against anyone doing what they want to do, but we also feel we are entitled to our space.
may i suggest,(and this may take a time period to have people adjust)that ship owners designate one side (port or starboard)as the smoking side of the ship, and as roomsare being sold, start from the stern of the ship, and work forward,so aat least when the ship is in motion, the smoke fumes are going to the stern of the ship.
or if because some people like to be midships or farward,at least make one side of the ship smoking only, and let the people who don't smoke have the other side. thank you kindly noel@stenhouselifting.com.au
