The trip started off as a comedy of confusion and while the weather can not be blamed upon Carnival their response is one of their own making.
The fog at Galveston created a surreal environment with 3,000 people getting off and 3,000 people wanting to get on at the same time. No real organization and a complete confusion, this was poorly managed.
The greatest self inflicted wound was the cancellation of Montego Bay and replacement with Progresso Mexico and thinking a $15.00 credit makes up from switching this from a 7 day to a 6 day cruise and from a Caribbean Cruise to a Mexican Cruise. Where the water is not as clear or the environment as enjoyable.
Of course we should not forget the Fuel Barge that struck the ship and helped delay the cruise. Again out of the control of Carnival but their lack of response tells it all.
Carnival is not a well oiled machine and lacks basic process engineering to make this an enjoyable cruise.
They have some great staff and the food was better then average.
Our kids loved Camp Carnival.
But all in all would try NCL or RC before Carnival for next excursion.
