This is our third trip on NCL out of Miami for a winter break Jan-Feb from the snow and cold of Montreal Canada. This time we did back to back Eastern and Western routes for two weeks of 80 degrees temps sunshine and a couple of new ports to visit. The Epic is a grand ship but still has the same feel as other smaller NCL ships like the Jewel. Staff is outstanding in service on every level and the food is excellent all the time. The controversy is the curved cabins not being very roomy. Well we had an inside cabin for 2 weeks and no curves and there was sufficient room and storage for everything. We visited friends in a curved balcony and felt the design cramped for floor space with 4 people in there at the same time. Our inside is cheaper and roomier in my opinion. The number one feature of this ship is the venues for entertainment and the quality presented as entertaining and fun for all. Blue Man Group is well suited to the ship with its style and packs them in for every show. The Legends in Concert is also Vegas style and appeals to a broad range of people.
The adult entertainment of Howl at the Moon and Second City are smaller venues and a better intimate performance as you are involved in the action. Along with the regular on deck parties of music and dance and games, this Epic is really entertaining. The new Cirque Dreams dinner show is unique for action right in front of you while you eat. All very entertaining. The specialty restaurants are all with their own merits but you get what you pay for. My wife says it was the best entertaining cruise she has ever been on. And I agree.
Inside cabins have straight walls, no curves are better.
