One of our more adventurous trips

Sail Date: February 2011
Destination: Western Caribbean
Embarkation: Galveston

We sailed on the Carnival Conquest-2/13/11. We had a fabulous embarkation. We arrived in port early, as this was the only hotel shuttle available for our party of 5. We were seated and on the boat in around 1hour. We visted the fish and chips up on 10 and happily waited for the ship to sail. We were at sea for days. We met many nice folks on the boat and enjoyed a CC meeting.

EXCURSIONS:

We only did one excursion and that was to swim with the Rays- Great trip.

Our other excursion which was to Paradise Beach was a nightmare.

FOOD: The food on the boat was outstanding. We did not have a bad meal the entire week. We had the anytime dining and never had to wait for a table for 5.The food in the MDR was always consistent and tasted good. The food on the LIDO was typical buffet food, but they seemed to strive for variety.

My room service BLT and cheesecake was one the yummiest suprises I have had in a while..

We toured the POINT steak More house on our behind the scene tour, next visit on a ship we may book the steakhouse.

Amenities:

Pools were COLD. People still enjoyed them and the hot tubs were always full.. of kids... Thank goodness for the adult pool and spas.

Golf was fun for the kiddos

Pingpong was fun too

Funship Freddy was everywhere- my kids liked to see him

Shows:

Best on any cruise thus far.

Loved the new Punchline Comedy club, they offer 2 family shows per night

The Magician was spectacular-A true do not miss

My boys enjoyed the Feathers and Floss of the dance numbers

Room:

Great size 440sq feet for all 5 plenty of room

We managed to get 3 ships on a stick and 5 medals. So we felt our family honor had been defended.

We all enjoyed our cruise, we got some great photos and made some fun memories.

Disembarkation was a nightmare as the Port of Galveston had been closed since Saturday and all 3 ships were coming in at the same time. I do hope with the arrival of the DREAM in November that the port will be more ready in future for such an event. We waited 2 hrs to have our number called, then 3 hours to get thru customs, get a shuttle and leave. A true nightmare.

But much more so for the folks who were getting on the boat. We realize this was an unusual situation and really hope in future things go smoother.

So a great trip Less
