Buffet food not that great, for any of meals. Royal Caribbean Cruise lines has great buffets. Except, main dining room food became so mediocre that we resorted back to the buffet, only because of variety. Royal Caribbean beats Norwegian here too. Small portions in main dining rooms, although a person can order more than one. Lots of veal served in main dining room. Steaks in main dining were not that good. Deserts in main dining room not that great. Cabins were well maintained. Unfortunately, the adjoining cabins were occupied by smokers, so when we opened the balcony door, the smoke came into and through ours. Weather in late January, early February was as predicted....mid 40's and rainy. I would not recommend going during these months. Seas were rough, and this small ship rolled & rocked alot. Especially, on our last night from Malta back to Barcelona, seas were 17 ft with gale force winds category 7. There is only one theater with 2 shows a night. All I can say is to get there early if you want a decent seat. At least 1/2 hour early. Most shows were good. The grand finale show was awesome.

Boarding the ship in Barcelona was better than expected. Took less time than expected. We took our luggage off the ship at the end of the cruise, rather than leaving it in the passageway the night before. But their process of reclaiming the baggage in Barcelona looked good, so either way would probably work. Cabin attendant was thorough and prompt. Didn't use room service on this cruise. Not too many people did on our deck (no dishes outside cabins). Because of the weather, hardly anyone was on deck or using the pools. Some people used the hot tubs. There didn't seem to be that many things to do on this ship compared to others we been on. We don't gamble, and not many people were using the casino, whenever we passed through it, after attending a theater event. Based on this experience, I would not book another cruise on the Norwegian Jade.

Cabin Review

Balcony

Cabin BD

Cabin was adequate. Bed comfortable. As ship rocked and rolled, some walls creaked. Smokers smoke from adjoining cabins came into our cabin through open balcony door, so we couldn't really enjoy being on the balcony or to leave our door open. Restroom was small, but it was ok. Being on the port side allowed us to watch most of the docking process. Some noise from occupants in next door cabins came through the walls, but we weren't there that much so it wasn't a big deal.
