We are well seasoned cruisers, been on about 30 in 20 years and all lines (Celebrity, Disney, Princess, HAL and Royal) but NEVER Carnival. When in port and we saw a Carnival ship, we looked down on those partiers with no idea what good cruising really is. Well, were we wrong! We loved the Pride and her crew.
We love Baltimore, we can drive to the port but we do hate missing out on the airline strip search, paying for pillows on the airlines and oh yea, hurry up...... and wait. So needless to say Baltimore rocked.
The PRIDE, what a great ship, everything everyone says is true, nudes everywhere, but after a while, we made fun of them. The main area of the ship looked like Disney's Haunted Mansion ride. We made fun of the candles and creepiness, but what a great ship otherwise, very nice public areas.
Cabin, we had an obstructed view and loved the space. There were three of us and lots of room. Yes, we did not have flat screen TV's but the channels were better than all of the other ships we had been on! Beds were comfy and the space was bigger than most ships in the past. Cabin stewards were fab!
Food, we loved the variety. None of the 'same old same old' cruise food. We ate almost all of the appetizers and the entrEes were great as well. Room service good and Mermaid grill food was good as well. We are 'foodies' and loved the food!
We skipped the entertainment and the kids club but would assume they were good as well.
So, go on the PRIDE, don't listen to the bad reviews, we are well-seasoned cruisers and know a good value and time when we 'cruise' one. We would go back on the PRIDE tomorrow, considering when we got home we got 12 inches of snow 3 hours after arrival! Please Carnival, give me another ride on your PRIDE, it was a great time.
