1. Embarkation shambles began at Marco Polo airport when we were left out in the cold for 30 minutes with a promise that the coach was coming in 10 minutes. The express check in is something of a mystery we were no 13 out of 15 groups and kept waiting whilst all non express passengers had checked in.
Cleanliness of ship good, superior balcony cramped in comparison with other cruise lines.
2. Why oh why were the Americans given water and coffee vouchers free and all others had to pay. Water is a basic human right but only if you pay on MSC
Tea and coffee only available at breakfast and afternoon tea and rationed out like school dinners queues.
Food was only reasonable.
3.Cabin Steward very good ,cabin quickly cleaned regularly.
4.Entertainment not very good the classical concerts were only average and the shows lost the plot as the time passed -what Carmen Miranda dancers had to do with a music box I don't know. The compere was lacking originality and having to listen to so many languages to introduce everything was tiresome.
5.Ravenna was the icing on the cake, - I am joking of course , we were dropped in pouring rain with no map of the town. A well English speaking Italian advised us the only place to escape the deluge was 7 kilometres away, we returned 24 euros worse off with no driver on the locked coach and had to wait in the pouring rain for another shuttle coach.
6.Lastly what can I say about disembarkation -breakfast 6.am out of cabin for 7.30am -sit in the theatre until 10am- then off the ship to queue for 2hours 30 Min's for coach to the airport, with the promise of coach be 10mins . 1 coach to take all passengers to Marco Polo. The best entertainment of the cruise was the Danish couple who took photographs of all the staff who did not respond to our requests for help, there were diabetics desperate for food elderly needing to sit down in all the BIGGEST SHAMBLES YOU HAVE EVER SEEN. and lets not forget the 6euros per person per day deducted the minute you get on board and the donation for UNICEF taken without any permission and the 15% service charge on everything. Is MSC helping out the Italian economy- it must be 3000 passengers all paying 6 euros plus 15% I expect to hear of another new ship next year. Sorry MSC have cancelled our next cruise immediately we got home.
