This was our 2nd time cruising on the Dawn Princess, and we felt extremely comfortable knowing our way around, and understanding the cruising culture. The cruise in itself was very relaxing, and a wonderful way to celebrate a special 60th birthday. In this review I have discussed several areas that were relevant to us, and hope that it provides an insight for other travellers.
Dining:
Dining was nothing short of spectacular, to say the least. On our 1st evening, we were placed on a table for 6 people in the Florentine Dining Room with a delightful young family with 2 children. Having interesting dining companions assists in making the cruise that bit more enjoyable. First sitting Dining is a must, and definitely non negotiable. The food selection was mind boggling, always arrived beautifully presented, in a timely fashion, and always hot. Drink prices were expensive, but wine left over was always named, recorked and available for the next evening meal. The variation of food was excellent, and we did not miss a night of dining in the Restaurant.
Lousy mattresses and pillows. Need more hanging space and coat hangers. Larger safe would help.
