Short version:

Well this was my wife and my 5th cruise and let me start off by saying that we knew going in that Celebrity would be a different crowd. We're both 25 years old and we've done 2 cruises each with Carnival and Royal Caribbean and we liked the atmosphere and crowd on those boats very much. We chose this particular cruise mainly because we were traveling with my parents and grandparents and they wanted a more laid back experience. The itinerary was also very nice with 7 ports at places that I really wanted to go to. That being said, I really wasn't prepared for how completely different the experience would be. At one point I was talking with someone from the cruise director's staff and he told me that there was slightly under 300 people on the boat under the age of 30 out of over 2000 passengers. I have absolutely nothing against older people, but if you are looking for a younger crowd, Celebrity, and in particular, these longer 10 and 11 day cruises are not for you. After talking with a couple of the bartenders, they confirmed that the age spread was pretty much representative of how it was every cruise on the Millennium. Nightlife on the boat was virtually non-existent. The deck 11 bar Cosmos did have a few people in it sometimes but that was the exception more than the rule. Even my parents were taken aback by how completely dead the ship was after 9PM. We would walk on deck at the main pool area and literally be the only people out there. All that being said, we still had a good time on this cruise. It was just a much different experience than other cruises we'd been on. If you're choosing Celebrity, make sure you know what you're signing up for.

Now for the long-winded breakdown for those who want it:

Cabin Review

Our cabin was all the way forward and right next to the door that led to the senior officer cabins and the bridge. No complaints about the room other than you could smell a faint hint of smoke because I think the officer cabins permitted smoking.
