We had a dream holiday
Destination: Western Caribbean
Although we are well travelled this was our first cruise and in view of the bad reports we were apprehensive. We need not have worried. Our first impression was that the ship looked in good shape and we found the checking in procedure to be most efficient. We were in our cabin in no time at all.
The cabin was better than expected with room to move around the comfortable beds .Everything worked perfectly and the shower and toilet were fine. There were three sets of drawers with adequate space in the wardrobe for even all my wife's clothes.
The food was excellent no matter what time you ate. The buffet was well maintained and always hot and the Orion restaurant was a good place to relax and be waited on. The burgers from the burger bar were fantastic. More
There was enough variety of entertainment to please everyone and quiet space if you wanted it.
All public areas were spic and span and we saw no sign of the threadbare carpets mentioned by some other reviewers. We have seen criticisms in other reviews that the staff were always repairing or cleaning stairwell etc. We regard this as a positive rather than a negative as there were many other stairways that could be used and surely it is better to be in a clean environment than on a dirty ship. All crewmembers were efficient, helpful, friendly and always smiling.
This is an old ship but if you are considering it for your holiday do not let that put you off as it is being well maintained throughout. We spoke to many people aboard and none of them had any complaints and they all felt that the cruise was good value for money and like us had a great time and will be returning again
We embarked in Havana. Less

For a basic inside cabin it was great. Everything functioned well and it was very quiet.
Not impressed with Carnival
