We flew in to Orland (about a 1 hr car drive from Tampa) a couple days early to visit family that lives there. The Orlando airport is pretty easy to get around in at 10:30 at night. It was a little busier for our return home at 4:30 on Sunday, but we still made it from the drop off curb to our gate in under 30 minutes. That included security, and a tram ride.
The Port of Tampa can be tricky to get to as most of the streets around it are one ways and if you're on the wrong street you have to back track to get to it. We arrived around 1pm and were on the ship by 1:45. It is always easier if you arrive AFTER the bus loads of people shuttled in from the airports. The staff at the port were very courteous, and helpful.
The ship was recently refurbished so the carpet and fixtures were in good shape. Our window room was as spacious as any we have had. We were on the 1st level to help avoid motion sickness. The food in the dining room was excellent. We had wonderful, attentive servers that took the time to get to know us. We have done the "as you wish dining" our past 3 cruises and have found it to work well for us. We eat early and did hear complaints about an 1hr plus wait around 6:30-7:00. The entertainment was typical for a cruise ship. The last production by the Legend dancers was amazing and should not be missed.
This was one of the best cruises we have taken (we've been on 9 total). We had beautiful weather, great ports and service from the staff on the Legend. Highly recommended.
