Ship Facts: Norwegian Spirit Review (by Cruise Critic!) | Norwegian Spirit Deck Plans
Norwegian Spirit - Western Caribbean
After reading everything possible about this ship (more info was found on its previous life "Superstar Leo"!) and viewing all the wonderful pictures - our expectations were growing by the day. The trip exceeded all expectations.

Embarkation...a little messy - but we were on the ship within an hour of arriving at the port. Some miscommunications by employees caused some longer waits for some than others.

You will be amazed by the cleanliness of this ship. They are ALWAYS cleaning everything and steam cleaning all the carpets whenever they get a chance. The ship looked brand new...all the time - don't know how they pulled it off that good.

We had a balcony cabin - a bit tiny but if you move some stuff around and don't open up the couch bed until you need it it was quite fine. And we had a four year old with we needed "toy room" and it worked out.

Cozumel was wonderful - rent a jeep and have fun on your own. San Francisco Beach was perfect. We stayed there most of the day. Georgetown is still a bit battered from the storms, but it was more of the fact that we had 3 megaships with us fighting for tenders and crowding the streets that really put a damper on the day. Seven Mile Beach was nice - but way too crowded due to the high ship volume that day.

The food (despite what you may have read in the reviews) was excellent. Buffet or sit down - the food was always fresh and the variety was outstanding. The "main restaurants" even have a kid's menu - they really love the kids on this ship. Room service was fast and fresh as well. No complaints at all.

Also a side note on the "freestyle" dining and the long waits to sit down in the main areas or the buffet - don't believe it - expect a ZERO wait if you eat between 5:30-6:00 p.m. in the main areas and NEVER a wait at the buffet. It was very, very organized and dinner time always lasted about 1:15 min. Very important if you have kids - the wait times people stated scared the heck out of me and my wife - it's fine just be there early.

The kid's area was amazing - it looked like it was stolen from the Disney Cruises...great slides and heated pools. A spa nearby for the parents as well to watch your kids tire out! Arcade was state of the art - lots of fun.

For all we got the price is amazing. You are really treated first class the whole time.
