We've been cruising on Royal Caribbean for about 15 years now and this cruise had to be one of the most troublesome. The ship itself is rather attractive since its stretching a few years ago. The centrum is a nice gathering place to just sit or listen to music, and the pool areas are well maintained and easy to like. The staff and the entertainment were also first rate.

Where the problems came in was just about in every other area of the ship. We had a number of problems in our stateroom that never were resolved—despite the cruise going on for 9 nights. Our sink took forever to drain, and when maintenance came they "fixed" it by taking the plug out. Then there were frequent problems with the water itself. Periodically, the hot water would stop. I would turn the tap for the hot water and nothing would come out. Sometimes, hot water would come but it would be erratic, turning cold and then back to hot. Again, we called maintenance, and they couldn't fix this problem either. Then there was the time when the toilet wouldn't flush!

Lastly, neither the air nor the heating worked. Leaving Baltimore, our room was cold, and down in the Bahamas it was hot. For a long time, nothing came out of the AC/heating vent. Then, after a number of complaints, the maintenance people "fixed" it by turning the AC on permanently. It blew like a gale for the last two days and nights of the cruise.

Large Ocean View Stateroom

Cabin H

Plumbing and AC/heating didn't work. Tiny space. Noisy AC. Random hammering sound.
