Arrived two days early due to fear of bad weather. Usually plan only one day in advance. Stayed at Embassy Suites, however, would not choose them again. Very expensive (asked other travelers who had much cheaper rates at nearby hotels, and all of ours included transfers from ship to hotel, to port, to airport (though may have been the deal from Princess, breakfast also included. In any case, the suite is large, but very dated, and the rug was disgusting....many, many stains....ick. They did offer to move us, but we wore our shoes...the rooms were clean, however.
Long lines to board, but went quickly and on the ship pretty early (dropped off at the 12:00 time, so expected it.
Ship was prepared....did have to be served our food in line, possibly to prevent novovirus which might have been on cruise before. In the buffet, for two days, and had to ask for salt, pepper, and had to use the gell to clean hands, but if it stopped us from getting the flu (and it did) I was grateful. After two days, went to serving yourself. The food was very good the entire trip...we did not eat in the main dining on formal nights, since my husband did not bring a long sleeve shirt, which they enforced. With 10 nights, didn't make a difference to us...the Caribe buffet was great and fancy, too.
We are pretty low key, so not much into the party at the pools or drinking, sorry. We did feel like the youngsters on the cruise, as there were many older, lovely people. If you are much younger, might not be as happy.
Entertainment was wonderful...from Cole Porter tunes to hip hop, to comedy magican to hysterical hypnotist. Wonderful!!!
Steward was fine, however if you have trouble getting a green light when opening your door, he had to go through the room next door and enter through balcony since the battery in door was dead....we were concerned we would miss a port excursion, but they fixed it while we were gone.
My husband did use the spa for a massage (hot stones) and just about crawled back to the room....pretty intense...and they got one on the beach at Princess Cays. FYI....in the first few hours on the ship, DO the treasure hunt...you will learn about the services and might be lucky....I won the massage worth $75.00!!!
Loved all ports and also Princess Cays....lots of free chaise lounges and great BBQ lunch...lovely.
Leaving the ship was orderly and well done. Bring a book, sit back and wait...quick trip to the airport....however we were there way before noon and could not check in until I think 3 hours before your flight, so long wait.
Overall, wonderful trip due to ship and fantastic port excursions that I booked with companies many cruise critics suggested on here or through Trip Advisor.
