My husband and I went on the Carnival Dream Dec 11 through the 18th. This was his ninth and my eighth cruise on Carnival. We have been on a total of 20 cruises total.
Embarkation was very easy. We go to the port around 10:30 and we were on the boat by 11:15 and went straight up to the buffet to grab some lunch. After lunch we booked the VIP passes for the spa for the whole week. It was wonderful with steam rooms, thalassotherapy pool and heated chairs and lounges in the relaxation rooms.
Food for this ship. Buffet was OK I have had better on other Carnival ships. Grill,Deli,Burrito Bar and Pasta section were very good. I don't understand why they have a Tandoor section on Carnival there is never anyone in line for this food, put something else that will be popular with a lot of guests. Dining room food was very good we did anytime dining since we don't like the assigned times.
Shows were OK again I have seen better on Carnival's other ships. Dancing in the street was excellent. Comedy shows were also excellent but others shows were just OK.
Casino is a nice size on this ship, too chilly this week to go in the pools but they were very nice. Not sure why only two pools on a ship this size if it was a hot week they would have been very crowded.
TV screen outside on pool deck was wonderful to watch a movie under the stars and in fresh air.
Loved walking around the ship on deck 5 where there are spa's and lounge chairs on this deck. There was a BBQ on this deck one day during the cruise. Love Carnivals colors and atrium.
Debarkation was very quick we did self assist and were home by 10:00am(we live in Kissimmee).
All and all it was a fun cruise and we would go on the Dream again especially because of the convenience of being so close to us where we live.
