My wife and I, both in our mid 40's, left a very cold city of Toronto for a much warmer city of Tampa for our cruise aboard the Legend on Jan.23/11. With that start, our vacation was already on a positive note that would carry on throughout the week.

A year ago we had met some amazing people aboard the Carnival Victory and many of us decided we needed to meet again, so we decided on the Legend. We flew in on Air Canada a day early and stayed at the Holiday Inn Express, Rocky Point. They have a cruise and stay package that can not be beat. The hotel was everything we asked for and they took care of all of our shuttle needs too. Many of our friends were staying there too. Right next door, a great restaurant called Bahama Breeze managed to accommodate a group of us including 25 or so people. Out of all of those people, i did not hear one complaint. This was one of the many times our Cruise Critic group would get together ( both old and new friends ) and we all knew from this point on, the cruise would be a great success, which it was.

Embarking the next day was very easy. We arrived at 11:30am and there was already a crowd. The first thing most of us noted was the older demographic. Apparently from talking with others, this is quite common with this port but in no way spoiled our vacation. The ship did shut down relatively early most nights with the lack of people still up. The piano bar was one such lounge that was unusually quiet at night, while the bingos were hoping. Basically, it's not a party ship if that is what you are looking for.
