Value for money spent. Excellent. NCL's upgrade for all to balcony cabin for "inside cabin" rates. Room, especially bathroom, poorly designed. Not enough storage. Our room steward, Harry, was excellent. Addressed minor concerns immediately. Hated that people could smoke in rooms. You could smell smoke in the hallways. Terrible that the casino was all smoking! One of our friends asked if there could be one non-smoking night and it was not addressed. Most cruise lines have half smoking (Celebrities' newest are non-smoking). Food was very good, good selection. Service in Tsar's and Azura were inconsistent. Some nights great, other nights we felt as if we had apprentices. Wine stewards in both restaurants were not good. The one in the Azura was not in a good humor and both were too pushy. Buffet was very good, but tough to find seating. One group of people were permitted to play cards while others were searching for a place to eat. This was on a daily basis.
Pool deck (not enough lounge chairs) and holding chairs for a long time without being in them was not addressed. Shows were good: three were outstanding: Jane L. Powell(singer/entertainer), Bud Anderson (comedian), and the final show (Le Cirque Bijou). Negative: people being allowed to access the lower seats well after the show has started. Very disruptive, very rude people. We had fun despite some of the negatives, very good value for the money.
Our cabin was 9018 balcony. Not enough storage for misc. items (make-up, toothpaste/brushes, shaving materials, hairsprays, etc.) Prefer small bars of soap instead of liquid soap. Bathroom poorly designed. While shower was a good size, the rest of the bathroom was not. Smaller-sized guests would be okay, larger-sized guests would have a problem. No bedside table with drawer. Small table near sliders. Could not find a light switch near bed that would turn off the lights in the cabin. We have had that on other cruise lines.
