Having been back from this cruise to the Caribbean and southern USA for just over a fortnight and reading some of the other reviews, we feel duty bound from the point of perspectives to give our detailed opinion which we trust other viewers will find fair, unbiased and informative.

Unlike the majority of other passengers on board the Azura, we were not in the Portunus Club and we have only just been informed by P&O of our Ruby Tier membership on returning home. Thus we cannot claim that we are experienced cruisers. Until this latest cruise, our previous experience was limited to the Ventura for the pre-maiden voyage to Bruges, a 5 day cruise to Dublin and Cork on the Norwegian Jade and a 6 day Trans-Atlantic crossing to New York on the QM2. To us, to be away for 28 days on board a well-publicised new ship over the festive period was an entirely new experience. We were really looking forward to it, having worked and saved hard for the trip. Booking was made some eighteen months ago with 1st4cruising.

For the purpose of highlighting some of the remarks given below, it may also be relevant to point out that one of us is an experienced 0ff-shore sailor in UK and French waters. Furthermore, both of us are health care professionals - one being a hospital consultant and the other a specialist nurse.
