Jjust returned from our Caribbean Cruise yesterday so it's all still so fresh in my mind! This was our second consecutive booking with Gill's and our first Princess cruise. From Gatwick to Barbados (with all immigration done on line)

From Gatwick to Bridge Town Barbados, and straight on to the ship with no hassle - excellent!. Within just over an hour of landing, we were up on Horizon Court having lunch! Our cabin was ready and the cases came along later. Unfortunately one case had been badly damaged somewhere in transit but the ship's staff immediately did the necessary paperwork and on the day before departure made sure that the case was secure enough for us to use on our homeward flight. We were a little disappointed with the cabin being smaller than we have had on other ships, but didn't let it detract from the fact that we were not going to spend the next fortnight in it very much!

From beginning to end we had a fabulous Caribbean cruise. We've "done" most of the islands before so it was nice just to take our time, have a wander around the towns on our own, although we were put off by the information attached to the Princess Patter about the dangers of going too far in Trinidad. However, we enjoyed our time there but will probably take an organised tour if we visit there again. New to us was Bonaire and Curacoa (our favourites). This was also the first year I managed to swim in the sea at Grand Turk. The Sea Princess was the only ship docked that day and there were plenty of deck chairs everywhere. Our day in St Maarten was highlighted by 6 ships in port (apparently a total of 17,000 passengers going ashore!). The sailaway that night was great fun - had to be seen to be believed. The noise was almost like the Last Night of the Proms!

Cabin Review

Cabin a lot smaller than we had been used to on other ships, but found it adequate. Hanging space a bit limited and becuase we had the two beds pushed together, there was hardly any floor space. Bathroom although small, was compact and shower was big enough. There seemed to be a bit of engine or ship's crew noise some times during the night, but nothing really bothersome. This cabin was right by the lift which was handy at times.
