Our first cruise

Sail Date: January 2011
Destination: Canary Islands
Embarkation: Tenerife

This was our first cruise and we have just returned highly delighted apart from trying to get through Luton passport control at 21-00 hrs with 2000 passengers trying to do the same thing, a 1 hour delay to enter our country.

Checking on to the ship was very straightforward like a practiced well oiled machine. Shown to our cabin which was a very pleasant surprise having spent a week on a Turkish Gullet. Everything was just spot on, the food, entertainment and bar and waiter service. The Spirit has 2 main restaurants, we ate most of our meals in the one with waiter service, which the breakfast and main meal waiter reserved for us each day, we were all inclusive and certainly got value for money in the bars and restaurants. All staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough for you.

The trips were good value although we tended to take the shuttle bus into town and do our own thing, travelling to a different island each night and sight seeing and sun bathing certainly More was a good way of spending a week.

This trip has wetted our appetite and we most definitely be back to try the Greek Island trip. We cannot speak highly enough of this ship and crew, well done Less

Cabin review: Thomson Spirit 338

Our first cruise and we had an inside cabin our first impression was the size was bigger than expected, the twin wardrobes and two dressers was a bonus fairly large and well thought out, beautifully cleaned and maintained. During our stay the cabin was cleaned and beds made each morning and pulled down each night with a towel animal to great you back in. We couldn't fault anything about the cabins.
