Hello
This was a very late booking for Christmas in the Caribbean via an e-mail offering a discount if we took out a subscription th Saga Magazine, We were also offered a drinks included, surprising as it was a Festive cruise
December 6th and we ready to depart on the short journey to Soton. Picked up by a very friendly young man dead on time 14.00 and were in our Cabin 161 at 15.10 complete with luggage
The cabin was on the Prom deck and was extremely comfortable - Kingsize bed and a large lounge area, modern TV, DVD/CD player and massive hanging wardrobe and drawer /cupboards etc
Villigoi, our cabin steward introduced himself with a bottle of Champagne and lots of shipboard information. He told us that our laundry/dry cleaning would be done free of charge - collected before 09.00 returned at 19.00
Saga Ruby was delayed by many passengers having major travel problems - we sailed circa four hours late
We were seated on a table for eight, and we soon got to know our fellow diners and we did have some memorable meals with them
Captain Philip Rentell was superb - much in evidence every day - with a very wry sence of humour - his crew also were extremely attentive and went the full mile to ensure their passengers were looked after
After day two the weather was perfect - it gradually got warmer and of course the Caribbean was at times too hot. The sea was also remarkably kind
Christmas day/New Years were truly out of this world, the entertainment and restaurants excelled themselves
We both agreed that this was the best cruise ever Well done Saga, and thank you
