Sail Date: Jan 2011

We sailed on the Legend out of Tampa on Jan. 9th, 2011. 7 nights, 4 ports.

Embarking: Super easy compared to previous cruises. We drove right in, had valet parking and our bags taken by porter, leaving only the carry on luggage. I recommend doing this, even thought the cost is $70 for the valet, it makes it so much easier than self parking. Lines were ok, we got there around 12:00 pm. It took about 45 minutes to go through the various lines you have to go through. Once we did, we proceeded directly onto the boat, although rooms were not available until 1:30, so we had lunch.

Food and Dining: Food was nice and plenty of it. Again, if you are expecting "Top Chef" food, you are going to be disappointed. The food is good, just not Michelin star quality. We generally had breakfast at the buffet, lunch in port and dinner at Truffles. Service was great, the waiters already knew our names when we sat down. Food was always hot, but if you like water, it will be hit and miss on refills. The singing and dancing by the wait staff is a little cheesy, but part of the experience I guess. One thing they dont tell you is that you can order as much as you want. 3 appetizers, 3 entrees, it doesnt matter. If you want to try it, order it. The only negative is the soft drink issue. $13 or so a day for coke is ridiculous and $2.24 per coke individually is a little high as well, plus I didnt care for the constant badgering to buy their "drink of the day" for $7.50. Overall I give the food 8 out of 10.
