Background:

My wife and I take one to two cruises a year and have since we were married about 25 years ago. We've sailed on many cruise lines including a few that are no longer in business. This is our third trip on Celebrity having sailed the Millie and Infinity previously. Up until this cruise, my favorite ship was the M class ships, and second to that was the Explorer class on RCCL. Obviously this is our first sailing on an S class ship. Based on recommendations from a friend, and since the price was very close to Concierge class, we booked an Aqua Class cabin on deck 11 midships. We booked this particular cruise based on several factors. We'd read glowing reports about the S class ships. I wanted to see the lawn and the glass show. I like 10 day itineraries and sailing the Caribbean. We live in Florida, so travel to the ship (Ft Lauderdale) doesn't require airlines and baggage fees. We sailed in January to avoid children and when we booked, it was a really good price. As time went on, the cost of our cabin ballooned to about 75% higher than we paid, and that's the first time I've seen that happen.
