Miami - Stayed with friends. We were grateful that they could drive us around and to port. Port of Miami is very easy to navigate. Embarkation was easy and well -organized. I never felt like I had to wait in line too long, but there were of course lines. Good customer service.

Day 1 - Ate lunch in the Summer Palace. Lovely venue with solid food choices and good service. Wandered up to the Topsiders Bar for embarkation drinks. Tip: the Deck 13 sun-deck quiet zone on the forward part of the ship is a great place to hang out for embarkation. Excellent views.

Day 2 - At sea. This was our first cruise (we're a late 20-something/early 30-something couple and brought our parents), and we are now totally sold on cruising. There was always so much to do that the ship never felt overly crowded, even on sea days, even though the ship was well into triple occupancy for the holiday week. I think this is a testament to the design of the Pearl and the work of the hotel director and staff. Andy was a fun cruise director. It's probably hard to be that perky all the time, but there was a lot of tongue-in-cheek humor and the staff genuinely seemed to work well as a team.

Small but nice. Plenty of storage, considering size.
