We booked this cruise on the Crown Princess at the last minute for our 29 anniversary. We had a balcony room in the middle of the ship on the Aloha deck. It was a great location to get anywhere. We arrived late for us which was around 2:30. Normally we get there when the doors open. We are Platinum members so check in is a breeze. We drove down from Orlando that morning and traffic was a breeze. Once on the ship we immediately check out the room and then to eat. We noticed that the buffet area had many items to choose from and everything was fresh and good. Then on to explore the ship. After reading a review on "the ultimate cruise ship tour" we decided to sign up for that first since it is very limited. The cost is $150 a person which seems steep but with a personalized tour behind the scenes with all the head people of each department, it is a bargain. You get to see things that you could never see otherwise. The Captain showed us around his area and boy is it beautiful. The back of the theatre area is awesome along with the laundry, infirmary and of course kitchen. It took us about 4 hours and was well worth the time we spent. There was a professional photographer that followed our small group around and took many 5 x 7 that we were given the next day. We also received this wonderful robe which I use today. Everyone could not have been nicer in showing us their area.

The room was normal size and very clean. I requested an egg carton to be put on my side of the bed and our room steward had it installed that night. We always enjoy the balcony and many times my husband sits out their for hours. We had late seating for dinner and had two very nice servers. The food in the dining room was very good and lots of it. Anyone that can't find something to eat that they like on a cruise, needs to get a life. I say, I have no dishes to clean and put away, no meals to cook, a great variation each meal. What is there not to like? We did enjoy the Crown Grill two evenings for a fabulous steak..The do a wonderful job there and are very attentive to your needs. We loved it.

I signed up for the coffee card and it was a big hit. It is right down in the main area and it is great to get a cup of speciality coffee and a few small sweets and listen to the music being played. We love this place and also the Italian Gelato.

Balcony

Cabin BA

Our Cabin was a balcony on the Aloha deck. It was very clean and right in the middle of the ship. If you have never been on a cruise ship it may take a while to get use to the limited space. Bathrooms are very small but sufficient. They sit out new shampoo and lotion daily for your use. The room steward comes in and straightens up while you are gone. I am always amazed how they do it so quickly and nicely without ever disturbing you. Our room was very quite and we were not far from the elevator. I felt the closet and hanging area for clothes is more than sufficient. Smaller suitcases are better for they will fit under the bed once you get things out. I now limit what I take after years of over packing. Much better that way.
