I took this cruise with my son. We were very excited about going and were looking forward to the independent port excursions I had booked.

We got the terminal about 11:45 and were on board by 1:00 PM. We checked out our stateroom and then went up to the Lido buffet for lunch. I found things to be very chaotic. Do we seat ourselves? Do the wait staff do anything but clear plates? Is there a diagram of the different food stations? (Turns out there is one but not near the entrance we went through.) Did not find wait staff to be particularly helpful but okay maybe they assume no one is new at this. After lunch we looked around the upper decks, mini golf, spa, different pools. Went back to our room and unpacked our bags. Went to muster drill. Finally it was time to depart and we didn't. We finally left port sometime around 6:30 PM.

I wanted to go to the piano bar but it was one of the places on board where smoking was allowed. Really? A room with a door closed all the time. Over the next several nights my son and I went to the casino, the comedy shows, a "vegas style" revue and karaoke. The comedians were the best entertainment on the ship. As far as the revue, the band was way better than the singers and dancers. Now we get to karaoke. It seemed, and was confirmed by ship mates who went almost every night, that the same passengers sang karaoke every night. That would be great if they could sing. Hey Carnival, how about putting a limit on the number of times someone can screech like an alley cat into a microphone?

mostly a quiet location, ample storage, near elevators and stairs mid ship. Was definitely the right choice for us.
